Former Scheunert stonemason's workshop, Schneeberger Straße 7

On November 2, 1881, August Paul Scheunert was born in Hainichen as the son of the weaver Friedrich August Scheunert and his wife Christiane Karoline.
On March 19, 1899, August Paul Scheunert left the five-grade advanced training school in Hainichen after the legally prescribed period. Mr. Scheunert settles in Stollberg on 16 January 1902.

In March 1904, Mr. Scheunert registers his business as a stone sculptor in Stollberg at Herrenstraße 384 (today Otto-Lehmann-Straße 1). Also in March 1904, the bricklayer Eduard Marschner applies for permission to build a showroom for his son-in-law August Paul Scheunert, who wants to practise his trade as a stone sculptor in it. The permit is granted on 15.03.1904.
In September 1906, Mr. Scheunert acquires the property at Schneeberger Straße 359 f (opposite the cemetery).

In December 1906, Mr. Scheunert moves from Herrenstraße 384 to Schneeberger Straße 359 f. This property was purchased from the church by Carl-Friedrich Rohrlapper in 1882. Mrs. Johanna Christiane verw. Rohrlapper (as universal heir) then sold this property to her daughter Mrs. Marie Auguste Feigenspan née Rohrlapper(03.11.1883). Mrs. Marie Auguste Feigenspan has a residential house with a shed built on the property from 16.05.1884. Mr. Oscar Theodor Müller becomes the new owner of the property at Schneeberger Straße 359 f(19.09.1889).

He sold the property to the grain merchant Carl Moritz Süß(04.09.1890).
Bankruptcy proceedings were opened against Mr. Süß(02.02.1892). The new owner was Mrs. Christiane Marie gesch. Bochmann née Schaarschmidt(01.07.1892). On September 25, 1908, August Paul Scheunert was granted citizenship of the town of Stollberg. In May 1909, Mr. Scheunert acquires plot no. 406 a (in the cemetery grounds) from Ernst Theodor Schmidt, master of the mortuary.
Mr. Scheunert successfully passes the master craftsman's examination in stone sculpting on 7 May 1913.

Paul Werner Scheunert is the son of master sculptor August Paul Scheunert and his wife Anna Louise Scheunert adopt. Marschner, née Claus, was born on April 17, 1920. On April 5, 1930, August Paul Scheunert is entered in the register of craftsmen. From July 1, 1945, the sculpting and stonemasonry business, which had previously been run by master stonemason August Paul Scheunert in his properties at Schneeberger Straße 359 f and 277 h in Stollberg and in his ancillary business at Bahnhofstraße 63 a in Oelsnitz, which he had leased, is run jointly by master stonemason August Paul Scheunert and sculptor Paul Werner Scheunert.

August Paul Scheunert sells parcel 964 a (to the left of Zwickauer Straße) to his daughter Johanna Martha Scheunert. August Paul Scheunert sells parcel 406 a (at the cemetery) with the low store on it to his son Paul Werner Scheunert. On February 2, 1946, Paul Werner Scheunert is entered in the register of tradesmen. On May 29, 1951, August Paul Scheunert leaves the business Paul Scheunert & Sohn for reasons of age and is deleted from the register of craftsmen. In February 1956, the father sells parcel 270 (formerly 359 f) and the associated residential building to his son.

On February 16, 1956, stonemason Paul Johannes Scheunert from Stollberg, Breitscheidstraße 49, and master sculptor Paul Werner Scheunert from Stollberg, Schneeberger Straße 7, sign a partnership agreement in which they undertake to carry out their professional activities together and to continue their jointly operated business. The ancillary business in Oelsnitz/Erzgeb. is deleted as of November 1, 1958.

The partnership agreement concluded between Paul Johannes Scheunert and Paul Werner Scheunert on February 16, 1956 is dissolved as of January 1, 1959. From this date, the business is managed solely by Mr. Paul Werner Scheunert.
From 2 September 1974, Mr. Friedhold Scheunert works as a skilled stone worker in his parents' business. On July 18, 1980, Mr. Friedhold Scheunert successfully passes the master stonemason examination.

Mr. Paul Werner Scheunert is deleted from the register of craftsmen on April 30, 1985. On May 1, 1985, Mr. Friedhold Scheunert, grandson of August Paul Scheunert, takes over the company. A new workshop is built in Stollberg's industrial estate II, Ringstraße 4, which is officially opened in 1996. In June 2001, 25 people are employed in the stonemasonry workshop.
